English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)
Instruction in ESOL classes takes place in English, adding to the rich diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and languages which students bring to FCPS.
The Leadership program aims to help students develop the leadership skills and traits needed to be leaders in school and beyond while working to build a sense of community among students, teachers, staff, and parents at Oakton High School as a place to learn, work, and enjoy life.

Students have numerous opportunities for performance and learning. These students consistently place in district and statewide events each year. Oakton is extremely proud of the students and teachers in the Department. The Performing Arts program includes Band, Chorus, Orchestra and Theater Arts.
Physical & Health Education
The health and physical education program is designed to teach students the skills, knowledge and attitudes essential to live a healthy lifestyle and select healthy and safe behaviors.
