Mission Statement
The Oakton High School Counseling Department provides a comprehensive developmental counseling program to all students regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, or any other characteristics. Counselors advocate for students and facilitate goal-setting and support students’ progress toward those goals. Our goal, in collaboration with students, parents, administrators, faculty, and other community stakeholders, is to help students develop the self-confidence and acquire the life skills necessary for post-secondary success in the 21st Century. School Counselors are committed to fostering the personal, social, and educational growth of all students.
