Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I am a student new or returning student to Fairfax County, how do I get a student account to access my grades and classes?

Your counselor will give you a class schedule, which has your student ID username. All students new to FCPS will need to see a teacher at their school before using their account.  They will use the Teacher-Assisted Password Reset Tool to give you a new password.

How do I change my password?

All students will still be required to change their passwords annually and are strongly encouraged to change their passwords at the start of school to avoid mid-year disruption. If you want to change your password without a teacher's assistance, please setup your Recovery Options using the FCPS Account Recovery website.

For both Parents & Students: I forgot my password, what should I do?

Parents & Students: Visit the Password Management web page

Students: If you setup your recovery options using the FCPS Account Recovery website, you can recover your own account. If you never set this up, you will need to see a teacher to reset your password.
