It will be hosted at the National Wildlife Federation in Reston. Students will enjoy a sustainable meal, learn how to get involved in environmental education initiatives in their own community, and will hear from prominent keynote speakers. Register here! Ongoing Other · HART (Homeless Animals Rescue Team) relies upon our volunteers at our adoption events. The volunteers handle a dog for 3 hours (from 12-3) every Saturday at two locations: the PetSmart on Metrotech Drive (next to Lowes). Teens 14-17 are more than welcome to volunteer with us-- helping to socialize the dog, etc. Store regulations require that an adult (18 and older) MUST STAY WITH THE TEEN DURING THE ENTIRE EVENT. Depending on your age, interest, and time available to volunteer, there are a variety of options.http://childsci.org/get-involved/volunteer/youth/ · Fairfax County Storm Drain Education Volunteers –- Storm drain labeling is an effective, low-cost method of educating residents about water quality problems in our streams, lakes, rivers and the Bay. NVSWCD is currently recruiting volunteers to conduct storm drain labeling projects. These projects have three main components. First, volunteers find a location and obtain approval from the civic or homeowners' association. Second, there is a community education component.
