Naviance Student

Naviance Student is a comprehensive website that you can use to plan for college and a career.

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers

  • Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past. Add colleges to “your favorites” list to stay organized and informed!

  • Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, take career assessments, and watch videos from Roadtrip Nation

  • Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned to you by the school to better prepare yourself for your future college and career goals

  • Sign up for college visits at Oakton! (11th/12th graders)

  • Research and apply for scholarships using the scholarship list

  • Find enrichment programs, from internships to summer programs, both local and world-wide

  • Find local volunteer opportunities on X2Vol (listed on the Student Naviance home page)

Accessing Naviance Student

  • Log onto Blackboard (fcps.blackboard.com)

  • Click Naviance Student (should appear on the right of your Blackboard page)

  • Check out the various pages listed in the menu at the top.

  • The “Colleges Home”page includes: Supermatch, College Match, Scattergrams, College Maps, Enrichment Programs, Scholarship List, College Visits and more.

  • For college visits, students:

    • Click Colleges Home (in the menu at the top)

    • Scroll down to view all upcoming college visits (you can also search each individual school and it will list if there is an upcoming visit)

    • If you want to attend a college visit, you must sign up 24 hours in advance - click sign up. You may print the pass or take a screenshot.

    • Make sure to let your teacher know ahead of time and then check in for attendance before coming down to the Career Center
