In keeping with our tradition since 2019, parents have access to online information that allows you to explore at the time and pace that works best for you. This asynchronous resource will be available to you throughout the school year and will include the same information that was provided at our in-person Back to School Night. 

We are offering an opportunity for you to learn about the school and your child’s teachers and courses digitally through the schoology platform. We will be posting videos and information about Oakton in the “All Parents/Guardians: Oakton High School” Schoology site, and teachers will post their course-specific information in each of their Schoology courses. This digital resource will be available to you throughout the school year and will include the same information that will be provided at our in-person Back to School Night. This allows you to explore at the time and pace that works best for you. We recommend using your ParentVUE account to be sure you are visiting all the courses that your student is enrolled in.  

How to access Schoology and the Parent Schoology Site:

• You will log into Schoology using this link: https://lms.fcps.edu/
  • Your username and password are the same as your ParentVUE account. If you do not have a ParentVUE account, you can contact Patrick Chang at @email to provide you with an activation code.
  • If you need to reset your ParentVUE password, you can find information about password management on the FCPS website. 
  • There is also a parent Technology helpdesk. Parents can call 1-833-921-FCPS (3277) from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for help accessing various FCPS technology programs like SIS ParentVUE and Schoology. This also has an interpreter available. 
• Once you have logged in, you should see a number of courses available to you. The Oakton Parent site is called “All Parents/Guardians: Oakton High School” and can also be accessed through this direct link. (Please note that the BTSN portion will go live on August 27.)

On the Parent Schoology page, you will find:

In each of your child’s classes in Schoology, you can find a video uploaded from the teacher on their individual class pages. 

• This video will include traditional Back to School Night information including grading policies, course syllabus review, content information, and other course-specific details. This will be the same information shared if you opt to come in person in lieu of accessing the site.
