Dear Seniors and Parents of the Class of 2023:

We are just under one month away from Graduation on June 9, 2023! Today we had a successful Decision Day complete with ice cream and lawn games for our students. It was a much-needed brain break! 

We have a few updates to share this week. Details on much of the included below can be found in April’s senior letter.

• All Night Grad Party: Prices for the All Night Grad Party will go up on Tuesday, May 16. You can find the tickets on this page. We’ll also have a parent representative from the ANGP committee at all lunches on Monday, May 15 who can help answer student questions.
• Senior dues: we will be sending an email on Monday of all who are still missing their senior dues. Please pay these promptly! If you're still looking to pay, you can find it in the school store on MySchoolBucks.
• Other fees and fines: students will receive an email with any outstanding fees and fines. Reminder that these need to be paid (and laptops/chargers returned) prior to students picking up their caps and gowns. 
• Parent meeting from April 25: you can find the recording and the PDF of the slide show on the Oakton parent Schoology.
• Academic Seals: Graduating seniors may qualify for a variety of academic seals. At the end of senior year, schools receive a county generated list of seniors who are eligible for each seal. Academic seals will be placed on diplomas for those who met the requirements. For more information regarding the qualification of each seal, please see the FCPS website.
• Graduation rehearsals: We look forward to seeing our students at the graduation rehearsals on June 6 and June 8 from 9-11 am. Reminder that these rehearsals are at Oakton. 
• Grad visit to elementary and middle schools: We’re also scheduling time for our students to go to their elementary and middle schools in their caps on gowns on Wednesday, June 7. Students will need to have all fees and fines paid before the rehearsal on the 6th if they want to participate to ensure they can pick up the cap and gown!

• June 9: Graduation, 2:00 pm (EagleBank Arena)
