Senior Letter 6/6/2023

Good Afternoon Class of 2023 Families,

This morning we had a great first rehearsal with our seniors.  The slides from this morning’s rehearsal have been posted for the students to review on the Class of 2023 Schoology page.  We handed out caps and gowns to any student who resolved all their obligations. We strongly recommended students take their gowns out and hang them up ASAP to remove wrinkles. Irons should not be used on the graduation gowns.

Tomorrow we have another exciting day ahead.  Students are welcome to visit their feeder schools for a walk down memory lane.  Later in the afternoon, we have our senior awards ceremony followed by our senior sunset event on the softball field.  More information, along with all of the other important graduation information can be found on our website.  This is the same information from the senior letter emailed on Friday, June 2.

We are happy to announce that Thoreau Middle School is now able to accommodate our graduates.  They have been added to the list for feeder school visits tomorrow.

In addition, I am including a few pictures for you to review to help you determine your seating preferences.

The below two images will help you in your planning.

To further explain the diagrams:

  • Students with last names A-LAM, along with students from the Chorus will be sitting on the North side of the arena.
  • Students with last names LAN-Z, along with students sitting on stage and students from the Band will be sitting on the South side of the arena at the start of the ceremony.

If you wish to be able to take pictures of them while seated on the floor, you will want to sit on the same side of the arena as your graduate.

However, if you wish to see their face as they cross the stage to receive their diploma, you will want to sit on the opposite side of the arena.  If that is your preference:

  • Students with last names A-LAM will cross the stage facing the South side of the arena (North to South).  If that is what you would like to be sure to capture, you would want to sit on the South side of the arena.
  • Students with last names LAN-Z will cross the stage facing the North side of the arena (South to North).  If that is what you would like to capture, you would want to sit on the North side of the arena.

Please note that if your student is sitting with the band, chorus, or on stage, they will still be announced and receive their diploma in alphabetical order.  Please reach out to me (@email) or Martha Rodeheaver (@email) with any questions.

Sincerely,

Jamie S. Lane, Principal

Martha Rodeheaver, Assistant Principal, Senior Class Administrator
